Meet the amazing 'HALF-BODY' mother!

A mother of two, who was born with a rare disorder which causes abnormalities in the spine, has found an unconventional way of getting around, she travels by skateboard.

Rosemary Siggins, who is just 2ft 6in, suffers from sacral agenesis, and had the lower half of her body removed when she was aged two.

She learned to walk on her hands at first, but eventually began using a skateboard to help her get around.

Unusual mode of transportation: Rose, pictured with husband Dave, baby Shelby and son Luke, opts to use a skateboard to get around as she found prosthetic legs too painful and doesn't want to be wheelchair bound.
‘My skateboard’s so important to me – it's difference between feeling trapped and feeling free,’ she said during an interview. ‘I couldn’t get by without it. And the kids think it’s cool!

Rosemary (known as Rose) is mother to Luke, 13, and Shelby, 6, and drives them to school every day in her specially adapted car.

‘When Luke was young, we’d skateboard together,’ she said. ‘At first, he wasn’t able to stand on the board, so he’d sit and push with his hands like me.’

The 39-year-old from Pueblo, Colorado, was fitted with prosthetic legs at the age of six, but found them too painful, preferring to use her skateboard.

‘I annoyed the hell out of my teachers, as they’d find my legs left around the school where I’d slipped out of them and got on my skateboard,’ she added.

While she was confident in her younger years, Rose became incredibly insecure about her condition when she was a teenager, and worried that she’s never have a boyfriend or a family of her own.

She trained as a mechanic and qualified when she was 22, but was resigned to the fact that she’d be alone for the rest of her life.

But Rose’s life changed in 1997 when she met Dave Siggins, who worked at the car parts shop she regularly used.

‘There was an immediate attraction for both of us,’ said Rose. ‘He treated me just like any other woman and told me I was beautiful. Eight months later, we began dating.’

Rose fell pregnant a year after she began dating Dave (who is 5ft 11in). The couple (who say they have a normal sex life) had assumed they would not be able to have children as sacral agenesis often causes damage to the reproductive systems.

‘When I went to see my specialist, they told me no one with sacral agenesis had ever gone full term and said a baby could crush my internal organs,' she explains.

‘One doctor even advised an abortion, but I refused. I knew the chances of passing on my condition were almost nil.

‘Luckily, it was an easy pregnancy and Luke was born healthy by C-section in January 1999.’

She went on to have daughter Shelby when Luke was six, but her second pregnancy was more difficult.

'I've gotten through life's challenges': Rose's health has worsened in the last few years, but she says she's grateful to have 'two amazing kids and a loving husband'

‘I had bleeding, breathing problems and abdominal pains,’ she said. ‘My body took a battering and, when I had my C-section, I also needed my appendix and gallbladder removed.’

Rose admits her health has worsened in the last few years and she is unable to work as a mechanic anymore. She says she feels as though her hands and arms are literally wearing out and is worried she may be eventually be forced to use a wheelchair.

'I’ve got through all the challenges life has thrown at me, and I’m thankful I have two amazing kids and a loving husband. But I’ve finally realised I’m not Superwoman.’

The brave mother says she makes a point of talking to her children’s friends and pupils at their school about her condition to avoid them being teased about it.
She admits that most of the kids think she’s cool when they learn she travels around on a skateboard.

‘Shelby loves that I’m so short, because I’m always on her level. She says she loves having the world’s shortest mum!’ she added. ‘Once, I was hanging out with friends and we started talking about who has the coolest mum. I won because my mum rides a skateboard and works on cars. That beats baking cookies and cakes any day!’

Make Windows Run Faster

Make Windows Run Faster

There are plenty of tips spread over internet to make Windows XP run faster; some are obviously good tips and others just wasted efforts. However, I'd like to share the way, which I took full advantages for Windows XP, how to run faster.
The first thing is to look at the task bar, which accompanied with the system clock, and identify how many programs are opened. If you see a bunch of icons like the picture below, which means all those programs are running on your system.

How to close the (bunch of) Running Programs:
Go to START > RUN and type MSCONFIG on run command then press ENTER.
A window like below will be opened.

Click and open the STARTUP tab and remove the tick marks from the box for the programs those not to be run at the time of start-up. But leave the tick marks as it was for the programs such as anti-virus, and whatever the user is using for work. Hit OK button and reboot the system when asked.

After rebooting, there will be a little bit of improvement in performance of system. Now, do a full system scan and remove spy-ware, ad-ware etc., if found. If the system is saying again to re-start then follow its procedure to clean spy-ware, ad-ware etc.,

At this moment the system is working better than before and we've to go another process, which is called: de-fragmentation.

Double click MY COMPUTER icon from the desktop/menu bar. Select C drive and right click on it to open PROPERTIES.
Click TOOLS tab and choose DEFRAGMENT NOW. Defrag window will be opened and choose ANALYZE (for disk C). Now the system will be analyzing the bad sectors, errors and so on.

Note that the process timing, for defrag, is vary to systems, which depending on the disk size and how bad sectors bear with disk.

After the defrag process, it's necessary to do Disk Clean Up, which is in the GENERAL tab on the same picture above. Never remove any OFFICE SET UP files, if you've seen in General tab. Select only the files, which needed to be cleaned, then press OK.

So, these process is enough to boost a system and it should be applied once in a month. After doing all these process, if the system doesn't has any improvement, then it might be in need of more physical memory or the processor is slow.

A system having minimum of RAM 256 MB with 1.6 GHz processor will run good.

How to use System Restore to Recover Windows 7

How to use System Restore to Recover Windows 7

When using Windows 7, there might be, sometimes, something went wrong with an app or a driver then Windows 7 becomes unstable!

A complete System Restore Process will solve these problems. Rather spending hours in searching some articles to rectify the problems, it's better to restoring the system to an earlier state by using System Restore.

This article explains the importance of System Restore, which take you through the restore process for Windows 7.

How to Recover from a Restore Point
Type system restore in the search box of Start menu then press Enter.
Now the System Restore Wizard will open. From here we've to choose either the recommended restore point, which of the most recent one or choose a different restore point, which of for the situation we want to do. Select the radio button, for example, Choose a different restore point button then click Next.
Now a list of different restore points with its description will be displayed. The user did several attempts of installing or uninstalling on his system; so they will all be listed with date and time. To get more restore points, make tick in the box of Show more restore points.
Now scroll and determine which restore point to be selected. As we know, the system being started unstable at the time when trying to get rid of (for example) Office 2010. So, pick a restore point, which is before a couple of days, when everything was working properly.
When picking up a restore point, it's also necessary to finding out the affected programs or drivers.

By clicking the button of Scan for affected programs will do the rest then determine what will be affected for the restore point you choose.
Now the result will be displayed. The result suggests which of the programs and drivers to be deleted; and what programs and drivers to be restored (though they may not work correctly and need to be re installed).
To confirm the restore point just click Finish button.
Click Yes, if the message saying: it can not be undone until it has completed or cannot be undone if being run in Safe Mode.
The System Restore process begins…
You’ll see a series of messages displaying while the process going on and different things being restored too. The time for the completion to the process may vary computer to computer.
Finally a message will be displayed that System Restore completed successfully.

Now, the system should be functioning properly. You still have all your documents, but some programs and drivers might be missing that should be re installed again.
Final Word
Creating and maintaining the System Restore Points are important for the overall health of the system. Some programs including Windows updates will create a Restore Point automatically but not always. System Restore Points can do the system's life easier, if something went bad.

Happy Speedy Browsing - CHROME!

How to Do Google Chrome Faster Again!

Have you noticed Google's SPEEDY Chrome browser slowing down or even crashing?

The reason is some unwanted plugins or extensions and browsing history could slowing down the browser speed or making it crash. Disabling plugins, extensions and clearing browsing history  will speeding up the browser speed.

Why disabling plugins: By default, when installing Chrome browser, lot of unwanted plugins will be installed then automatically enabled, too. Plugins of Real Player, Flash, Java, Windows Media Files, Sliverlight etc., are useful for browsing. But, many of them are not so important for our daily browsing. Enabled plugins could slow Chrome's performances. Disabling some or more will enhance the browser speed.

Remember, some plugins such as Flash, Windows media files, Java etc., should have to be enabled because many websites are associating those programs to support and display photos, videos etc.,  On other hand, keep enabling some important plugins that would be useful for our browsing experiences.

How to disabling plugins: Type about:plugins in Chrome's address bar then press enter.

Installed plugins will be listed on the current tab. Scroll the list and find out the plugins, which actually not required, then click disable button for each to disable.

After disabling, the plugins will turn to gray, in color, on the list. Each disabled plugins can also be changed to Enable, if required.

Plugins could not be deleted or uninstalled, instead, they only be disabled. If a plugin is associated with an extension, then the plugin would be removed/deleted, when uninstalling the extension.

Extensions: are small programs that added some extra features and functions to Chrome. These extensions are useful for browsing experiences and available from Chrome's Web Store.

Installing lot of extensions could slow the browser speed. Extensions can also easily disabled without uninstalling to gain some speed.

Some extensions displaying their buttons, on Chrome's address bar, and they can be disabled by right click on them and choosing disable from the drop down menu.

Apps: Installing lot of apps (Application software), which is for specific purposes, could also slow the speed of Chrome. Disabling apps, the browser speed will also be increased.

How to access the list of installed extensions and apps:
From tool bar, click wrench icon and choose Tools ->Extensions from the drop down menu.

To disabling an extension, remove the tick mark from the check box then the extension icon at the left will be changed in gray color, which means the particular extension has been disabled.

To enabling the extension, again, click on the check box to appear the tick mark. The extension icon will also be changed to its original color.

To remove any extensions or apps, just click the trash bin icon, which appeared next to the check box.

History: is the data of browsing, which were gathered and stored in Chrome's history database. URLs, cached texts, cookies, download history, plugin data etc., will be collected and stored for the websites that have been visited.

Caching process took effect internally for which the cache memory will speeding up the system, instead of downloading every time, while the history database become huge then the speed of Chrome will be slow. So, the browsing history should have to be cleared, in a regular interval, for a speedy browsing

Categories to clear browsing history:
- Clear all browsing data (i.e., entire history) and
- Remove selected  items.

How to clear all browsing data:
From tool bar, click wrench icon then choose Tools -> Clear browsing data from the drop down menu.

A small window, Clear browsing data, will be opened. Select the items, which have to be cleaned, by click the boxes to display ticks. Select, also, time range from the drop down list. Then click the button for Clear browsing data to clean (wipe out) the selected data.

How to remove selected items:
As mentioned before, click the wrench icon from tool bar, select History from the drop down menu. The history page will be opened with all browsed sites. Move the mouse over this page and click the boxes to make tick mark for the items to be cleaned. After selecting the items, which has to be wiped out, click Remove selected items button to clear

Now, a confirmation dialog box will be displayed. Click OK to remove the selected items from the list.

Final Punch: All the browsed data could also be cleared, automatically, when Chrome exits. An extension, Click&Clean, will do this job, perfectly, and it might be useful for everyone!

To install the extension click the link: Click&Clean then click also the button: ADD TO CHROME.

Now a dialog box will be displayed and ask Add "Click&Clean"? (a confirmation message to install the extension).

Click the button Add then the extension will be installed and the icon will also be shown in the tool bar.

                                   !!!HAPPY SPEEDY BROWSING!!!
